AFRICAN ASHANTI KUDOU LIDDED BRONZE VESSEL
This lidded bronze pot or Kudou would have been used to hold precious object during religious ceremonies.
With figural detail to the lid and a pierced ring foot.
Age unknown but is antique.
The Ashanti are a coastal kingdom in Ghana, where goods and slave trading brought merchants to their area from mid C15th.
Condition: has a slight crack to the side and has been repaired at some point around the bottom half
