Dropping off is strictly by appointment only and the saleroom is often already full from house clearance for clients.
All lots belong to clients & are offered on an agent commission basis
The saleroom does not own any lots offered.
We only accept reserves of £50 or more
(this has to be the lower end of the auctioneer’s estimate).
Our wide range of clients, large mailing list and online presence
means the lots will find the correct place in the current market.
Therefore 90-95% of lots forward are ‘no reserve’ as they are from house clearances, often with family further afield who may not wish to pay storage costs or are not able to collect any unsold lots. So most are ‘here to go’.
The saleroom charges 18% commission plus VAT to vendors
(min of £2 per lot for vendors) VAT No. 474395555
The only other charges are for safety testing of electrical items & plug replacement.
No lotting fees. No unsold lot fee.
See our Terms & Conditions for more information.
The Buy Now facility is for general household items from house clearance only, such as beds, electrical goods, lower end ceramics, items retrieved from potential waste for charity purposes or previously unsold lots etc. as and when the auctioneer deems this is in the best financial interest of the clearance/estate. Electricals such as fridges, washing machines etc tend to make more money on a ‘buy now’ as clients want them when theirs has broken down, not when the next auction happens to be. Unsold items from one auction may be offered as Buy Nows in the second or as auction lots with no reserve at the auctioneer’s discretion.
